5:00 PM, Tuesday. 31 January 2011.

I felt a slight wind, around 2mph I guess, out of the Southwest.  The air feels of cold around 25 degrees.  And the sky is dotted sparsely with high puffy clouds.  With that Southern wind I would expect the day temperatures to remain warm.

My prediction yesterday was not too far off.  The wind picked up but barely and it was a little colder, on account of the wind I suspect, but was warm all day.

5:00 PM, Monday. 30 January 2011.

The air is without noticeable movement, I guess it is a brisk 34 degrees Fahrenheit, and the sky is covered with sparse patches of flat, streaky clouds.  At this hour the Sun appears only about 1 degree above the horizon.  From the calmness of the air, I suspect little change in the conditions tomorrow; therefore, I expect a warm bright day.

The Project

I will be making daily observations of local weather conditions across the 15 weeks of this course.  As my understanding of the science behind weather prediction improves, so should the content of my observations.
