8:57, Wednesday. 25 April 2012.

It's a clear skied night and the temperature is 54 degrees.  The wind is blowing from the Southeast.  The barometer today has been crazy, going up an down sporadically.  It is now going steadily up but it is still relatively low.

Winds are very active today across the country.  I can see a low cell just west of Chicago.  It also looks like there might be one on the panhandle of Texas.

There are both the lows I saw in the winds.  Also of note on the West coast is the numerous high and low cells.  This may be causing the high winds we see in that region; although, this map shows wide space pressure gradient in that region so it should have calm winds but for whatever reason it doesn't.
